I Was Once Transgender. Why I Think Trump Made the Right Decision for the Military.

In response to critics of President Donald J. Trump‘s announcement that transgender individuals would not be accepted into U.S. military service, this former transgender speaks out from firsthand experience that it was absolutely the right call. Read this article to understand more of the issues involved. Walt Heyer said, “our military was forged to be the world’s strongest fighting force, not a government-funded, politically correct, medical sex change clinic for people with gender dysphoria.” He brings out that in addition to the extreme financial costs, there’s also the question of readiness during transition or then detransition, as the process often comes with a high level of anxiety and emotional instability. He reports that “over 60 percent of this diverse population suffer from co-existing mental disorders.” Why should our military veterans suffer without the medical care they need while we pay extravagant medical costs for people who think they want to change their gender!
